Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women (and 1 in 833 men), which means you will likely have clients who will be diagnosed with breast cancer or will come to you as a survivor. Are you prepared?
In The Jill Hinson Method for Breast Cancer Teacher Training Workshop, you will learn Jill’s 10-Week Method to offer your clients a studio- or home-based fitness program, working four components of exercise important for all bodies; this includes aerobic, range of motion, balance, and strength training with Pilates. This in-person workshop will teach you the skills you need to teach those battling breast cancer with confidence.
You’ll walk away from this workshop with a toolbox of knowledge about breast cancer and how to safely teach clients affected by this disease. You will be introduced to breast anatomy, subtypes and stages of breast cancer, breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction, chemotherapy, radiation, lymphedema, and exercise after surgery.
While encouraged to teach with compassion, you will:
learn contraindications, modifications, and tips for working with a client who is battling breast cancer.
learn how to measure for lymphedema.
learn how to assess range of motion.
receive case studies to explore.
Jill will briefly introduce you to Core Compassion Compassion Project, a 501(c)3 nonprofit offering post-rehab Pilates scholarships, fitness bras, and lymphedema sleeves to those battling breast cancer.

“I can’t endorse Jill Hinson or her work enough! Anyone considering this training should jump in. The material is a rare combination of science-informed and heart-centered approaches. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching alongside Jill, at her studio in North Carolina, and witnessed firsthand that what she and Core Compassion Project offer is not only approachable but profoundly impactful … and deeply touches and enriches bodies & lives. I’m so happy and grateful to know her and that she’ll be sharing her insights in Sacramento, and I am certain you will be too. ”
